Continental Cars Audi hosted 19 customers at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds for Audi ice experience™ on Friday 11th August.
Customers were greeted on Thursday evening at the Rees hotel by Downforce driving instructors, the Audi New Zealand team and Continental Cars’ Arron Lomas and Katie Alderson. Welcome drinks and canapés were offered as guests mingled and videos were presented featuring the Audi models to be driven the following day.
We had an early start on Friday, departing the hotel at 6:30am to head up the mountain in the Audi coach for a day of driving on the ice. It was a perfect morning with clear skies and a chilly -6 degrees once we reached the summit. Luckily we all had the exclusive Audi ice x Huffer superdown jackets to keep us warm.
The Downforce instructors kick-started the day with a briefing where they outlined our schedule and explained tactics and tips for driving on the ice. We were taken through a range of driving activities up the mountain including slalom, mini Finland (an iconic Audi activity) and Gymkhana time trials which created a bit of competition.
All customers experienced driving a range of Audis including the RS 3, RS 4, S3, A4, RS Q3, RS e-tron GT, and hot laps in the new RS 6 Avant Performance – the most powerful RS 6 to date.
We then headed back down the mountain and to prepare for the awards dinner at the exclusive Artist’s Residence – a luxury private villa home to one of Queenstown’s most prominent artists, situated on one of New Zealand’s most prestigious golf courses.
Audi ice experience™ 2023 truly was an amazing experience and was thoroughly enjoyed both by our customers and our team who attended. Enjoy our photos from the day below.
